Established in 2023
At Sunrise Skin & Wellness, we take pride in offering a unique approach to wellness that goes beyond conventional skincare services. We believe in honest education and making decisions with the individual instead of for them. Disease prevention and a holistic approach to care with an alliance with traditional medicine is our specialty.
We treat primary care skin conditions ranging from hair loss to nail disease, and from acne to cancerous lesions that may appear on the skin, in addition to offering basic procedures to enhance each patient’s natural beauty.
What sets us apart is our belief in listening to each patient and truly understanding their needs. We do not take insurance, which means we are able to spend ample time with each and every patient and provide the best patient experience possible at an affordable price.

Meet Patricia
Nurse practitioner Dr. Patricia Delgado is a triple board-certified nurse practitioner in adult-gerontology primary care, dermatology, and psychiatric-mental health, and the proud founder of Sunrise Skin & Wellness in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Her career has been built around a simple belief: exceptional healthcare should be grounded in evidence, guided by curiosity, and centered on the person sitting in front of you; not constrained by insurance requirements, corporate priorities, or outside pressures that interfere with individualized care.
At Sunrise Skin & Wellness, Patricia brings together her diverse training in dermatology, primary care, mental health, wellness, and aesthetics to provide highly individualized, whole-person care. Rather than separating skin health, physical health, and emotional well-being into different boxes, she looks at how they intersect and how understanding the whole picture can lead to better care.
Meet Rachel
Rachel walked into the office one fateful morning on February 17 with her résumé in hand and various references, then after much research and conversations by Patricia, Rachel started working on March 13, and the rest is history!
Rachel Hartley is a Certified Medical Assistant and Certified Surgical Technologist with over 25 years of experience in dermatology and 13 years in office and clinical management. From day one, her warmth, positivity, and dedication made her feel like part of the Sunrise family.

Rachel brings experience, compassion, and a genuine love for helping people feel confident and cared for. Whether she’s assisting patients, helping keep the office running smoothly, or bringing laughter to the day, she has quickly become an invaluable part of Sunrise Skin & Wellness.
Fun Facts About Rachel
A Clinician Who Also Teaches, Speaks & Researches
Patricia’s work extends far beyond the walls of Sunrise Skin & Wellness.
She is a nationally recognized speaker and educator who regularly presents to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dermatology clinicians, and interdisciplinary audiences on topics including dermatology, psychodermatology, clinician-patient connection, trauma-informed care, and integrative approaches to health.
She serves as lead faculty for the Florida Atlantic University Dermatology NP Postgraduate Certificate Program, helping educate the next generation of advanced practice dermatology clinicians.

She is also the founder and president of Sunrise NPPA Derm, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering nurse practitioners and physician assistants while creating a collaborative professional community committed to keeping the care in healthcare.
Her writing and educational work have explored the intersection of dermatology and mental health, and she regularly collaborates with clinicians, researchers, educators, and thought leaders across specialties. See her full list of publications here.
Patricia is also the host of The Skin & Psych Podcast, a video series produced by Dermatology Times and Psychiatric Times, where she sits down with experts from dermatology, psychiatry, psychology, neuroscience, and other disciplines to explore the powerful relationship between the skin, brain, behavior, and human experience.
Researching What Comes Next

Curiosity has always been a driving force in Patricia’s career.
She works with K2 Medical Research as a sub-investigator on psychiatric and Alzheimer’s disease clinical trials and has served as a lead session monitor in psychedelic clinical research.
Her own scholarly interests focus on psychodermatology and the ways psychological stress, trauma, nervous-system regulation, and the clinician-patient relationship may influence chronic inflammatory skin disease.
She is particularly passionate about bringing rigorous science to concepts that have historically been considered “too holistic” for conventional medicine and exploring where evidence-based Western medicine and whole-person care can meaningfully meet.
Why Sunrise Skin
& Wellness Is Different
For Patricia, expertise isn't about collecting credentials. It's about using that knowledge to ask better questions.
Whether someone comes to Sunrise for a skin concern, aesthetic treatment, weight management, mental health support, or overall wellness, her approach is the same: understand the person first, then build the plan.
That means recommendations aren't driven by quotas, packages, or pressure to sell treatments. They are guided by medical evidence, clinical experience, ongoing education, and what actually makes sense for the individual.
Patricia continues to learn because she genuinely loves learning. She speaks because she loves sharing ideas. She participates in research because she wants to understand what comes next.

And she created Sunrise Skin & Wellness because she wanted a place where all of those pieces could come together in one kind of healthcare experience, one built around curiosity, connection, integrity, and truly individualized care.
